Couple Mailboxes....

Grabbed a New Mailbox and went to Town...LOL

There are 6 coats of Powder..

1.Satin Black
2.chrome
3.Candy Red
4.Candy Green
5.Clear with Silver Flake
6.Second coat Clear with silver Flake








This one has 9-coats of powder... Dark part looks black in pics but it looks like color changing in good light..you can see the candy red -purple and green..

1.Gray
2.chrome
3.Candy Red
4.Candy Purple
5.Candy dew green.
6.Neon pink
7.Lime green/Fade
8.Gloss clear
9.Gloss clear 2nd coat..





Same mailbox but Shot it with a Coat of Candy Blue.. Thats 10-coats..

HP, what do you do to prep the mailboxs? do you strip them of their paint and blast?

Depends , some are painted & some have powder coated finish..

Painted ones are stripped & blasted..

Powder coated ones i give a good light Blast for my powder to have a good Bite..
Then a 15-20-min @ 400 deg Pre bake test .. to make sure The current finish holds up..

funny all i can find at LOWES/HOME DEPOT are painted. where did you get the powdercoated ones?

I have a black one from Lowes that I hit with 4 coats. All I did was wash dry and shoot. It's been on the pole for 2 months with no problems.
