Here's an outer belt drive cover plate in NIC Windsor Bronze and Bike black. A custom motor mount in bike black and an oil cap in Windsor bronze. The motor mount was smoothed with All Aluminum, KL primer and finally 2 coats of the black.
Oops, I meant "All Metal"! It's like a bondo, but it can withstand temps up to 600 degrees. It dries for sanding in about 20 min, depending on how much hardener you add. You'll get about a 5 min working time before it sets. It's made by USC and uses alot of metal in it so it does attract charged powder.
Dang BeeBob, I wish I would have known the all metal would take the heat. I just bought lab metal and its expensive. I have used all metal before, and its cheaper, wish I would have known about this before.
Do you KL primer over this? And should this be outgass? On each coat? Don't mean to ruin your tread.[/quote]
I had a heck of a time with OG bubbles where the all metal was put on too thick. That mount has 3 layers of All Metal, 3 heavy coats of KL primer, 2 coats of bike black. Then I still needed a good heavy coat of flat black OG powder before the last coat of bike black. I only shoot the KL primer through my EW pro gun and all the coats went on cold, over the All Metal!
As far as outgassing?? I don't know if that would help. I think the main thing is to put it on with thin layers and maybe cure at a lower temp for a longer time.
