Pics from a customer's EVO VIII that was built over the last few monthes. The VC is PBTP Candy Blue over Ultimate Chrome and the header is Cermakrome polished w/ low psi glass bead. Has a nice gloss silver finish

    Very nice!

Just curious...that black plastic cover on top of the valve cover does it have a shinny coat or does it have some weathering?

The reason why I asked: If that cover needs some help it might be hi-temp plastic and you could coat it. (Just a thought)

    That blue is sweeeeeeet looking!

The spark plug covers are notorious for fading like that, the silver paint they use from the factory is terrible and rubs off over time. We were trying to get the guy to go with a billet aluminum piece but I don't think he wanted to for some reason. Would have looked 10x better I think.

Take it off and see what numbers are stamped in the plastic. It might be hi-temp plastic up to 400F and then you could coat it.

I'll see if I can check it out today, it maybe gone from the shop already but if not I'll see what it says. Its a fairly thick piece for what it is so I wouldn't doubt that it could be baked but personally a billet piece would be alot nicer looking on it.

I agree....I was just thinking the customer doesn't want to pay for the billet$$$$. You can always do junkyard testing . Find one in the junkyard prep it, coat it, and bake it. If it melts don't do it LOL. Use a lower temp for a longer time.

Thanks guys! Seems everywhere we posted these pics everyone loves the the VC and header. I may do the same blue on my VC (same type car) soon. My roommate and I are going to be in a car show at the end of the month so I have ALOT of parts that have to be coated before then. STAY TUNED
