  • PTB X-TREME CHROME-METALLIC

Did some parts in X-TREME CHROME-METALLIC , came out excellent , nice gloss , mirror like finish .

I'm going to take a pic of it with some text to see if it reflects the text clearly, like a mirror or chrome plating would.

Mild steel , bead blasted , cured at 400* for 10min.

Here is a comparison to chrome plated , plated on left , p coat on right .

It has a very high gloss , not sure a clear coat would do too much more ? I don't know though haven't played with the clear coat too much.

the Clear will Dull it and it should be cleared to protect it from oxidation.

My Friend, all metallics should be clear coated not to exceed 2 mils...to protect against oxidation, maring and chemicals

              Re: PTB X-TREME CHROME-METALLIC

We have coated several pieces in X-treme Chrome and when a clear was applied it dulled the shine and looked like bright silver instead of chrome. Has anyone had success applying clear over chrome?

The Ultimate Chrome would be my choice with an acrylic clear coat not to exceed 2 mils. The ultimate Chrome should be 1.8 - 2. mils fully baked and allow to cool.....
