Urghh!!! We just did a set that looked just as rusty The kid didn`t want to put alot of $$$ into it so he went with the wrinkle black
That's where I am right now... guy doesn't want to put a lot of money into them and he didn't know how bad they were. They were covered in paint when I got them so the rust wasn't very visible. After stripping the paint off the rust became very apparent and the blasting is leaving them quite pitted. Any suggestions?
I love the KL Primer & try to encourage customers to let me use it! In this case the kid wanted the cheapest possible & in my opinion the wrinkle "hides" the imperfections. There are plenty of colour choices & textures. If he is willing to spend the $$ though go with the primer
Can't see the sides real well but from what ya can see the bulk of the pits are in a not visible area. A suggestion not knowing what you are coating them, I would do two coats both a slight on the heavy side. Not to heavy as to cause a problem. If all the pits are in non visible areas just coat it. You could primer or even Zinc Primer or KL Primer as suggested by the others.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you charge him? I like the wrinkle black idea so I just emailed him that option.
$80 for the set of 4, he also did springs, brake sets & various other brackets. If it was just the arms more like $100 `cause they were rusty & greasy!

Well I don't feel so bad then!
I think I quoted him a good price then. I'm doing 2 of them for $50. Which seems right on par with your pricing since he also dropped off two milk crates full of parts (window brackets, fender supports, etc) for blasting and some powder. Thanks!
