Re: PITA Masking Job Chrome wheels with White centers
Awesome job. Not sure I'd like riding whatever its going on because it looks like they're going to go with a low-profile automotive type tire. A handling nightmare in the corners.

Should have been in the $150 ea. range but these are for a shop that sends me a lot of work so I had to cut him a break because I hit him hard on another job and didnt realize it till he called me on it.
For anyone curious on how to get a nice clean even straight line without a nice edge to tape to here is how I did it. I alos attached a pic of my homemade tool.
Took a piece of scrap square stock drilled and taped a hole for a set screw put my exacto knife in it set the length and then slowly bent it down to get the height I wanted set the square stock where the hub would go and just ran it right around cutting the tape. I ran the tape long over running it from the lip onto the spokes and I just used green 1" painters tape put the wheel in the oven brought it up to 200 pulled the wheel out and pulled the tape off and finished the cure cycle.
Here is the really sad part nobody will ever see this. They are going to be painted over. The shop is building the bike for a customer that wants the wheel centers painted to match the paint on the bike. It is a one off color without doing a special blend you wont get a match in powder. The only reason for this is because the last set he had the centers painted on ended up chipping so he is hoping that by using powder as a base it wont chip as easy.

I wouldnt say you cant get a match in powder !! I spoke with TheKing the other day, I have to send her the paint sample, but they are going to work up a match for me !!
Re: PITA Masking Job Chrome wheels with White centers
Oh I know you might be able to get a match but this is some funky paint its a gray green silver metallic flip flop type of deal. Personally I think its gross but hey its not my bike.
