  • Drag bike frame racked for my new oven

This baby is 6'-4" long. The rack is on a rolling base so I can roll from my spray area in front of the booth, roll it to the oven, pull a pin and the top cage rolls off into the oven. Slick!

Here is the frame as it came out with EW Reflective Chrome basecoat.

Ready to go back in the oven with the first topcoat of NIC Lolipop Tangelo.

First topcoat cured and ready for the second coat to even out the color tomorrow.

All done with my ebay gun and shot cold. Sure could use some longer cables and hoses!

thanks for the idea i have an axle housing to do and had some ideas, but yours rocks. i think i have the same gun and oven as you, jp80t, you are correct, those hoses could be twice as long, i also do multiple coats cold, just have to change adjustment for clears.

Hey wise do you wipe the overspray off of the rack before you put it in the oven?
Nice job and cool rack idea.

Thanks guys. Yes I do either vacuum off the overspray or wipe it off. Here is the finished product with the last coat (#3) of NIC Lollipop Tangelo, that was also applied cold. It evened out the color beautifully.

Dan, Did you use a fan tip or a cone for that?

Yeah, used it for the first time and I'm really liking it. I did some other smaller parts with it too and it works great. I think it handles faraday areas a lot better.
