                    Re: This is POWDER COATING

It is a four step process:

1). Using the heavy texture black as a base coat
2). Sand the heavy texture after cure
3). coat with color of your choice
                    4). Top coat with clear

                        ok i'll bite

where is the silver base coming from? i can see anyone sanding between the heavy ridges to go back to the substrate.

                        wouldnt the black go down,
                        then silver
then sand off tops of ridges to bring the black back
                        then red coat
                        then clear

Yes this is how it goes:

                          1. Apply the black cracked ice, make sure this isn't applied too thin
                          2. Apply the topcoat of your choice
                          3. Dry or wet sand with 220 or 320 grit sandpaper
                          4. Sand until you get the desired effect
                          5. Do a final clear coat

New here and looking through the threads for pictures of the cracked black ice with a colored top coat. This thread has the information I'm looking for, but I can't see any photos. They appear to be red x's. Anyone have pictures of the completed process?

Most likely the post are old enough the pictures were dropped to save storage space.
