So I hve one of the local bike shops has asked me to powder coat the rims on this bike that is sitting on the show room floor. They want the lip left black and the inside of the rim to match the copper of the bike.

1st question is anyone hav any idea's as to what colour would match???

2nd question is will the wheels be powder coated from the factory and can I just coat over then leaving the lip the black they are now???

Bonded silver base has a some metallic that would show through nicely with a candy top coat.

            thanks guys.

nest question is how would you do the masking if the user wants the lip of the rim left black but the inside of the rim done in the orange? I have never done 3 powders like this before.

He wants it left black all the way into the bump that the spokes connect at.

                  Re: ZX-14 2009

I would shoot the whole wheel w/ the base, then orange, and black last.

so base coat orange, cover the orange w/foil and tape then shoot black. cover the orange from the top of the bump that the spokes are on all the way to the spokes. if that makes since.
