I was wondering if you can wet sand a powder clear coat and buff out like you can with a auto clear coat. If Yes, is the process the same? Any info will be helpful..

Re: Wet Sanding?
I've tried taking off dust nubs by wet-sanding and buffing. My problem is, the powder is so frikkin hard that my compounds won't cut it and it still leaves visible sanding scratches. I've used the 3M Finess-It, McGuires (3 different grades including swirl remover for final) and so far I've still ended up redoing every part I've tried to buff out because I wasn't satisfied. Am I holding my mouth wrong, or what? Does a slower buffer speed work better, or do you need a higher speed than with paint to cut it?Dan

Re: Wet Sanding?
Wise I use the Liquid Ice with the recommended pads and speed on my buffer just like paint. Just guessing but if you were hand sanding the sanding lines will be harder to remove and maybe you didnt go fine enough on the paper grit. With the DA sander with the interface pad it makes 1500 grit sand like 2000 grit and the 3000 grit makes it look amazing. I also think it would be really hard to only do touch up for dust nibs and blend everything back in.Comment
