  • Best way and tape to use two for tone rims?

I am going to post this here and see if I get more answers?

The green tape seems to want to move and mess thing up if taping off the rim so you can shoot another color in the center. How and what tape do you all like to use?

I taped the center and that seemed to work ok with the green tape around the edges and folded over to aluminum foil. Its just doing the opposite that is the problem.

I just did a set of rims black center polised lip. I used 1 inch 3M brand green painters tape to mask the edge where the lip meets the center of the wheel. I put the rim in the oven for 5min or till the wheel temp was 150. Pulled the wheel out and pulled the tape nice clean lines to bad the rest of the wheels looked like trash. They were a freebee job for a friend they are only his track wheels.

I guess I give that a try? Hard to remove any thing that is just fresh powder so I guess having it maybe start to flow you can get the 3m tape off easy with out powder disruption? I guess practice will help?

Now to get some more test rims to do

            Thanks
