I was doing it with my propane torch, you can watch the powder start to bubble, So thats why i was thinking maybe i could put it over a 55 gallon steel drum that has a fire going in it?

We baked an intake manifold at 600deg for an hour to see what would happen. THe powder got real brittle and blasted off pretty easy. Good to know

        Joe,

I dont think my oven can reach 600 I do know that at 600 degrees the powder is bubbling and brittle and blast off easily. I had a friend who did powder coating, when he got small already coated parts he would fire up his old propane gas grill and put it in there for about an hour. Then just blast it off.

I have a commercial company do all my blasting work(no stripping blasting here), I work 50 hrs a week and go to school 30 hours a week so it doesnt leave me a lot of time for doing my own part prep. The only problem is my local company is EXPENSIVE to get stuff stripped if its coated already.

At 600 degree's powder should not off so it could be liquid you are removing....burn-off oven run between 800-925 degree's F...
