What I did was I went to the sumax powdercoating site and printed out their price list.I show this list to my customers and charge half-price of the prices listed and still make money.

Cool thanks I also got a pm from Cindy (C n TnC) with a price quote.

I don't know my motorcycle parts as well as car parts. Upper sliders are like the piston part shock of the fork right?

yes you are right . and my prices are about the same as jason .
except for the wheels , the street glide factory wheels are cast aluminium usually black center part with machined edges and hole contours. i get about 125 each for those

              Re: HD parts price help

I just noticed the 2 day turn around also. If someone pushes me for quick turn around and I have to push back other customers I would add 15%. If I'm not busy then I'm just happy to get the work.

                        Thanks Harleydad.
Harleydad is right about the type of wheel , some come with painted center section and others are bare .
the center section is as cast so it is very rough and you might get a little outgasing . if the customer wants the center section smooth you can do a first coat , cure ,sand smooth and do a second coat
don t forget to add that in your price quote

                            Re: HD parts price help

I got a reply back from the guy with the parts. He had a question on the upper fork sliders not being coatable. He said the ones on his bike are painted now. Any thoughts on this. Being new at motorcycle parts I'm unsure how to answer his question. Is there a difference between painted ones and polished ones? I thought if it was paintable it was coatable? Do they have covers that go over these and he and I just aren't on the same page?

                            Thanks

When you say "upper fork sliders" do you mean the fork brace?
Upper fork sliders are his words. I am thinking he and I aren't on the same page.
