  • beginer looking for some help

I just started messing with powdercoating not to long ago. I got into to it because i was rebuilding a 1987 yamaha banshee and wanted it to be different from every one else. I use to get all my powder from the eastwood company till i found this amazing powder buy the pound. The question i was woundering is im looking for something to replace argent silver base coat that i use to get from eastwood. What should i use for a base coat under candy colors and anodized colors etc. ?

    thanks

      Welcome to the forum.

The Silver Sparkle is a nice metallic silver basecoat, Silver Explosion will give you a heavier metallic base, but if you want something like the Argent Silver, any of the chrome powders PBTP sells will give you similar results. The Patented Ultimate Chrome is the shiniest of those available, and also makes a great basecoat.

      Best of luck.

We use bonded chrome but have just placed an order for the ultimate chrome & think we will switch to that

I like the Silver explosion too but it is very transparent and will show the substrate through it.

                    Welcome Trey,

Silver Explosion and Siver sparkle work very well as a Base Coats for Candies.
