  • Price for "bow riser"

Have any of you done parts for bows - like risers for compound/recurve target bows?

I showed a picture of a bow riser that was faded black to blue to a friend that sells bows and accessories and he though he may have customers interesed in something like that.

I told him I would come up with a price.

Single color...2-stage...3-stage blend (2 color and clear).

    Any ideas?

Like this (not my work or photo):

    Thanks.

    Re: Price for "bow riser"

Here are the prices we charge. These prices will vary depending on the bow. We have two local archery shops that host 3D archery shoots. Most of the archers that attend these shoots have very flashy bows and deep wallets . If you can get a good relationship with your local archery supply store it can be a good source of $$$$. Hope this helps.

    Single Colors

    Riser - $70.00
    cams - $25.00
    limb pockets - $20.00
    Complete Bow - $110.00

fades, translucents, candies, two colors, ect.

    risers - $90.00
    cams - $40.00
    limb pockets - $35.00
    Complete Bow - $160.00

What kind of prep do you do for those? And not being a hunter what are they made from? Fiberglass? Aluminum?

          Thanks

I noticed also. Wish we had concealed carry...

I've been a NRA member since the early 90s, and am a firearms instructor and Junior Olympic shooting coach -
IL is such a great pro-gun state you know!! (not...)

If anyone is in the Chicago area and is interested in Olympic-style air rifle and air pistol shooting, let me know - especailly if you have kids 12-18 that want to learn. We are multi-time Junior Olympic state champions in junior air rifle and 2008 national champions in junior air pistol.

Our club is in Arlington Heights, IL - http://www.aiac-airguns.org.

                Cool, thanks.
Why I asked about the prep is because I thought they were reinforced fiberglass.

The limbs themselves probably are, but the risers and hardware on a lot of them are probably aluminum.

The limbs can be made from a variety of materials. Make sure you DO NOT use any acetone on or around the limbs as it will damage them. Most of the aluminum risers have a anodized or water tranfer finish on them usually. A few minutes in the blast cabinet with some glass bead media will do the trick.

Here in Georgia it is legal to carry both Open or Concealed with a Georgia Firearms License. I dont leave home without my Springfield XD 9mm.

Gun rights groups have made huge leaps as of late. With the DC gun ban being ruled unconstitutional I hope areas like Chicago will take notice and see that they are wrong and things must change. All I can suggest is for you to join/start a pro 2 ammendment group in your state and work hard to change things for the better. Its great what you are doing for those young kids! Events like that help them to see the fun of sport shooting. Good luck!

                        Re: Price for "bow riser"

I agree 100%. I can't even remember how long I've belonged to the NRA, but its a long time. Right now I have CCW permit in ND, MN, and Utah, which with the reciprocation, gives me the right to carry in about 38 of the 50 states if I remember correctly. 2 of my 4 sons have already taken the classes and applied for it as well. I either carry an AMT backup in .380 or a .45 caliber Colt pistol (my personal favorite), either compact or full-size depending on my clothing at the time. If you aren't in the NRA, join. If you are, get your friends and neighbors to join. Freedom needs all the support it can get right now...before the door is closed forever, and nobody fights for our rights harder than the NRA.

(I know, this post will probaly get moved to the "Off-Topic" thread)
