Hey everyone. I am new to PC and have will have a few/alot of questions. I belong to several forums of all types and look forward to learning here aswell. I have already soaked up alot of info before I registered. Anyhow, is that how you prep the alum. bottles? You can just bake the label off? Or does it need stripped?

Welcome to the forums banshee. I usually do a chemical strip on the aluminum bottles, followed by media blasting, rinsing off with alcohol, then coat and cure.

You send the bottles out to be stripped or just put them in powder stripper?

I just give slap a good coat of Aircraft Stripper on them and then blast them in the cabinet. I used to blast them entirely, but found out that the chemical removes 90% of it and then I just gotta blast off some areas and give it a good finish for the powder to stick to.

Yeah, he sends them HERE to be professionally emptied, then they are returned C.O.D.

A lot of time you can get by without stripping the bottles. Lighter colors tend to show the label thru the coating but many colors are fine without stripping. I just coated a half dozen alum bottles with the Patented Ultimate Chrome for use as a base coat. The label doesn't show thru at all, with or without a top coat. I just wipe them down with denatured alcohol before shooting.

This may be a stupid question. But, where do you even get aluminum bottles? All we have here are glass.....
