kl primer question(s)

Is this a corrosion protection primer, a primer filler, or is it more of an adhesion promoter?

I used some on a mail box and I thought I had good coverage, but after flow out it looked rather thin. I gave it a second coat to help fill a few rust pits, but it really didn't do a very good job of filling them. Maybe my expectations were to high, but the item description calls it a good filler. Anyone using this primer?

I use it as a light duty filler and like it. It sands easy like regular auto bondo. You'll notice better filling properties if you sand in between coats of the KL to smooth out the finish. It does look thin/see through when it flows out, but that's normal. If I have big divots to fill, I'll use the All Metal alum filler first and sand that smooth before the KL.

Yes! It does all three. BeeBob pretty much summed up how it works. It does make a good filler but may require multiple coats on bad stuff. I've used it to smooth out some nasty flaking chrome surface, although I wouldn't recommend that as a typical use. Don't expect it to be like sandable paint primer. It's similar, but not the same.

This headlight ring was really pitted bad. I put three coats of KL on it and then the color and sanded each cure except the last (of course ) It turned out pretty slick. I not real sure, but I think the zinc rich is a rust inhibitor and KL is mainly a filler primer. Correct
