  • COATING OVER OUTGASS

    i shot a piece and it outgassed. can i sand lightly and re-shoot it? if a piece outgasses will it do it again on the second try?

    it was an old top of a tripple tree from a harley from the 1970's. i knew it was going to give me trouble thats why i outgassed it first. i used a chrome powder that has to be cleared. the guy doesn't care too much if it does not look perfect but i want it to at least look decent! sorry no pics at this time (after putting in a full day at work when this happened i just shut my oven down and went to bed .

      Without a pic, I would say that if it outgassed the first time, it will do so the next coat without outgassing the part and layind down an outgass forgiving primer.

          It sounds like the KL primer might be a good choice.
