  • pickup tube

    Hey All,
I've been lurking aroud for quite a while trying soak up everything I can from everybody and I finally broke down and bought a King Coat gun, the pickup tube in the hopper is so long that it touchs the membrane when everything is together. Does anyone have any recommendations as far as how long the pickup tube should actually be? I didn't use a pickup tube when I modded my hobby gun and it worked fine except for the delay in powder delivery.

    Thanks,
    Gary

It's pushed all the way on the pump and it's about the same length as the hopper body, I noticed a ring on the membrane when I went to clean it. Thanks for the welcomes.

This is the easiest way to make sure the tube is measured right. Connect tube to the adapter, put it in the cone, put cone with adapter on the main tube ( do not put the main tube in the bottom piece where the membrane is for this check ) and see how far the pickup tube sticks out from the bottom of the main tube. Make sure the cap and cone are fully seated on the main tube and just measure back from the bottom of the main tube @ 3/4" and trim the pickup tube if needed. You CAN damage the membrane with the pickup tube if you leave/have it too long.

It helps to cut it on a slight angle also.
