I went from the HF gun to the Caswell and then to the King Coat. Every time I've upgraded the difference has been very noticeable. The transition from HF to Caswell very easy. However, switching to the King Coat took some getting used to. All the extra controls and flexibility with KV takes some getting used to. In addition to all that there's the hopper instead of a cup, so fludizing properly was a challenge in the beginning until I received the BeeBop hopper.
So far I'm happy with it. It took some getting use to and some trial and error, but it was a good investment. I still keep my Caswell around for small jobs since it's easier to clean and setup. Overall, the King Coat is a good gun for the price, great value.
I have the King w/fludized Beebob hopper. Am working on some stuff to get ready to give it a whirl. Had the King with a cup already, worked great with first coats. Not so good with second coats, but after a few phone calls, we figured out the gun has some issues. Can't wait to run the hopper gun. Maybe today or tomorrow. Will post results.
