  • my first real try

OMG I am so in love...I just got off the phone with the king...talk about customer service if you know what I mean. She made me promise a pic of what I was working on so here goes.

I have spent most of the last 24 hours reading on the forums here and sure appreciate all of the information on here. You guys have some great looking work. I am doing some not car/motorcycle things This is my first try at something that I couldn't just throw away if the coating came out bad. It is a Wall hanging about 17x12 inches by 3/4" thick. The outside frame and the back piece around her head is going to be black and something else across her body but I haven't decided what yet...I am going to experiment a bit with some ideas in the next few days. The yellow came out a bit thin in a couple spots so I am going to have to put a second coat on that, then the whole thing is going to get a clear coat.

Welcome to the forum. That's an interesting Marilyn Monroe project. That will be cool when you're done.

And we can't really blame you for falling in love with KING. She's the greatest. Just don't get any big ideas!

      Best of luck.

Thanks for the comments and hellos!

The king definitely takes customer service to the next level. I'm a total noob and I think I learned as much in that one phone call as I have in the past month or so of reading things. I also have a couple more hours worth of reading that she emailed me!

So I spent HOURS in that 'have you been coating thread'...wow...amazing stuff.

Harleydad did you finish that globe? I saw the stand in there...maybe the globe is somewhere further along...I'm only about 60 pages into the 190 some page thread ack!

There are also some pieces in there that look like they are airbrushed... like:

        viewtopic.php?p=1299#p1299
        viewtopic.php?p=4175#p4175

So do these guys have some kind of deal going on with magical elves coming in in the night to do this or is this done by human beings? I was checking out a thread on the casewell forums about a guy doing a 'super secret if I told you I would have to kill you' method he called 'lace' which was obvious even to a noob to be putting on layers and taking them back down...does anyone know what the best way to do that smoothly is? without buying a $400 piece of equipment
