Short answer YES, blasting will ruin the bearings, if that doesnt ruin them running them in the oven will make the grease leak out -
Re: Motorcycle wheel bearings?
i have done some peices with the wheel bearing in,but it's very hard to get all the grease out.usually it runs out on your nice a fresh powder job.
also i don't no if the heat is good for them.i just tell customer to remove them.it's not worth itComment

Re: Motorcycle wheel bearings?
Forsure take them out, its not worth the hassle. Also he wont have to have new bearings, you can pop the seals out of sealed bearing and clean regrease them and they will be new as good. I do that to the wheel bearings on both of my race bikes and have never had to replace one.
good luckComment

This is a personal choice of mine, but if I am taking the time to remove the bearings I always order a new set. Just me though. I bought my front and rear wheel bearings for my super moto for about 30$ with new sealsComment
