  • Sears Powder Coating System..........

I just got a Sears Powder Coating system in trade, a buddy got it an never used it and I traded him a harmonica case for it.......It's brand NEW, never been used........but with no manual. I've got the basics down but I have a question about the cup. there are 2 stem tubes inside that are loose.........I understand which one goes where, but while trying to reassemble the cup into the gun, they flop out into the cup.

I've tried to find a manual online, but no luck.........

Can I glue the stems into place (hot glue, silcone, etc)? I think it would be a lot easier to get the darn thing assembled if they are stationary.

    Any help would be appreciated................

I plan on using this gun also so that I can change colors more quickly.....

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I looked around a little and didn't see anything either. Maybe contact Sears cust service. I don't see the gun on the website.

You are correct, you can not even get cups for the gun any longer

I understood the same thing.......but does anyone have one (this type of gun or experience with this type of gun) that could help explain if my thought about possibly silicone caulking them into place........therefore making them easy to remove at a later date...........thanks again..........

Take some pictures if you dont mind? one is the air tube and the other is the pickup. I dont see a reason why they couldnt be hot glued in? the HF gun appears to have some kinda glue around the cup part holding it together so i dont see where it would hurt?

Here's the pics..............I couldn't see any reason why not also..........my only question is which direction do I put the spouts.........the one on the gun end makes sense to me to place down (for airflow to stir powder) and the longer one has a slot for the electrode on the top so it must go up, exhaust tube, spout down to suck up the powder.............what do ya think...........

              Thanks,

              Jeff

thanks slowdrive............I really appreciate it. also, can you check and see how they're attached? I can't believe that they are left loose...........if so, terrible design.......thanks again.

thanks slowdrive.............I figured they did but was affraid to risk it.........it's the only cup I have for it.

All I need is positioning and I'm set with this one.........thanks again.

I've been using a HF gun, this one will allow me to change colors a bit quicker..........but I'm already saving for a new user friendly system........can't wait.....

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to seeing your pics.

                        Hey Jeff,
Their originally glued. So gluing them won't hurt. They are clocked different though. I can scan and email you the manual if you want and some photos of the cups and tubes so you can see how to clock them . Just pm me your email address and I'll get it to ya this weekend.
