  • PBTP Clear?

I have 1 lb of CRYSTAL CLEAR super durable and looks more like white and I have a newer 2 lbs of it and has that blueish tint? I have shot some of the older 1 lb one and no problem its clear. I thought I had two different types of clear till I saw the name and checked the invoice and the number was the same? Can any one tell me why? To me I wouldn't for sure not mix the two just shoot one till its gone and then go to the newest one.

Well lets put it this way. I didn't pack it and I didn't put the label in it. All I did was order 2 lbs of the super durable and both product numbers match so your guess is as good as mine? I guess PBTP and the packer will have to answer that one I guess At least you gave me the maybe the reason why they don't look alike? It does have the same look and color as Rosey's 200% glass clear?

The products were ordered months apart, different batches have been purchased numerous times from the manufacturer in between the period in which you ordered. A lot of manufacturers will switch resins several times from who they purchase their raw materials from. I'm sure they are the same clear and just have a different appearance. One product was ordered 8 months before the other. Don't mix the 2 clears together, you should never mix powder together if it is from 2 different batches, even if the product is exactly the same.

damn, i wish I had known that. I just poured a noticable darker candy red, into my container of candy red. My hope was mixed good enough you'll never notice.

What I think is the norm on mixing unless you can get an OK of being the same is to test a small amount and see how it works. Now the pros can tell you better if it turns out good and looks good will it stay that way if there is some difference in make up? I don't have a clue. That is also why we are custom coaters I guess and hope it don't come back to bite us in the rear I have had Shelly say no but she said it was my call nd it worked out fine and looked very nice but it has never left the shop so ??? will it hold up

custom means never having to do it the exact same twice doesn't it

Also do it one time and done and not have to do it again because what you were using was faulty Its bad enough to just screw up and we don't need any help doing that for sure We can do that on our on and thought we had all of or "S" together

Thanks for the info. The invoice I had on my first order of it had the bottom of the page cut off and was not sure when it was ordered with out doing some more looking. Just wanted to make sure what was going on with it.
