So has anyone pced a computer case? I popped a piece into the oven last night, and whatever the coating on it is now took the heat. You guys think I can just shoot right over the original paint or whatever it is or should I blast it all down? It is a brand new case. I am wondering if I need to break the frame of the case down to all its individual parts and coat it then re-rivet it all back together, or if i can get a good enough coat just by shooting it as 1 piece. Dr. Faraday is going to be paying a visit I can see for sure...lots of little corners and shit if I don't disassemble it (lots if I do too actually...).

I'll be the first to say it even though you probrably don't want to hear it lol...

Take the entire thing apart and blast everything down to bare metal. Plug and cap holes and studs and shoot all the pieces. Good luck.

If its like most computer cases I have seen you will warp the metal really bad when you blast it. I would chemically strip it.

Yea I was having some issues...didn't mess anything up but it was looking sketchy. I'm running up now to go get some stripper.

I think Hppowdercoating has coated at least one of everything imaginable.

Most computer cases are powder coated. So coating over the case shouldn't be a problem. Sand and coat it.

This one wasn't powder coated, it was paint for sure...WAS!

Actually I need to clean the outside up a bit more before I coat it and that is going to have to wait till morning as I am all out of air (apparently it makes people angry when the compressor is ripping away at 3:30 am) but I got the inner frame all done in the special mirror white. The outside is almost perfect, it needs a little touch up w the stripper in the morning and a good clean up. I ran out of white rivets so I couldn't put it all back together...back to the hardware store again tomorrow!

So I am having some consistency issues and that damn faraday fellow is about annoying. The pictures look nicer than the actual product, there are a couple spots I got the clear on light I think, or maybe it was the dormant blue on light, but it came out with some almost teal shades to it. I also had a couple spots that had build up on em...I need to check things better before I cook it!

Sweet!! Great job. The farady troubles will lessen with time.
