A question: can someone explain me the cost structure for all the elements when you powder coat an element in %:
    - raw material
    - processeing costs divided into energy costs and labor costs
    - typical handling & transportation costs
    - usual overhead costs
    - typical margin

....and is there anyone who have thoughts on a pricing model?

Price= (raw material costs* Xm2 )+(labor costs)......etc..and how this could be developed to price correct?

    Thank you very much!

You can't bundle all powder coating into 1 pricing model. Every job is different in too many ways to list.

To come up with a pricing model for general PC'ing would be impossible unless your a robot shop. I don't think you'll find too much detailed info on robot shops on this forum.

I've been wondering why everyone [myself included]charges about $75for a mc swingarm .But charges 2-3 dollars a foot for tubing of various sorts. I understand there is a little more to it.But, some swingarms are basically just 3-4 feet of bent tubing. I hate to think it's just because mc owners will pay that. After paying $11 for one head bolt for my harley and being overcharged for anything involving my motorcycles. That seems to be the only reason I can see for the difference.

Why? Because you can. You're getting more money from those jobs cause you don't make much at $5/lineal foot.

The swingarm is more difficult to strip, blast, prep, and spray in comparison to a straight piece of pipe.
