I Had a lady call and her husband wants his chrome dirt bike wheels done in black. So I gave her a price. Then she ask how durable powder was and I told that it's was one of the most durable on the market and holds up real well for most wheels that are mainly used on the streets but as far as it holding up as well as chrome on a dirt bike would be a hard call. It all depends on what he likes to do and where he like to do it at I guess? If he likes to play in mud like normal mud or sandy mud then the finish is not going to hold up well and even the chrome over time will start to show the abuse but not as quick as powder would.
This area I live in is mainly sandy type soil + living close to the coast and salt water also. I like to make a buck when I can but also don't want a customer to come back complaining because it didn't hold up.
If he decides he wants them done any way, have you got any suggestions so it might just hold up a little better than normal for this use? They could be taken to the chrome shop and have them dipped and remove the chrome down to the nickle or copper so the powder could get a better bite? I know that want help the ware of the powder but would help the staying power of it!
