Re: Anybody have a good chrome guy?

A customer in the bike business told me yesterday that a LOT of chrome places are starting up in mexico. They can use the nasty chemicals that they used in the 70's because there is no EPA down there. Don't know if its true, but I have no reason to doubt him.

You could expand your search radius 1000 miles LOL.

I used to be the plant manager for Tri-K plating in Franklin TN and let me tell you that the EPA is hard on everyone not to mention the local water and sewer folks. I had constant problems with them and we were doing nothing wrong. No matter if its a mom and pop shop or a big company they still have the same regulations to meet EPA emission standards. The permits alone are tough to get and keep. I am currently trying to get my permits to open up a chrome and powder coating shop and having many issues in the process. I would suggest Chrome Masters in Nashville, TN if you are needing chrome plating. I think they also handle all the parts for the Orange County Chopper guys.

That's not just with the small shops....some of the big ones have closed recently because of that also, unfortunately I think the chrome process as we know it is becoming a dinosaur. Now if we could find a good powder alternative it would sell like hotcakes........chrome powder is by far is the #1 question we get asked about.

You could try "Atlas Plating" in Houston, Texas if you're going to have to mail order. Check their web site...

Anybody have a good chrome guy?

I'm looking for someone to chrome some grilles on my mics that are pitted pretty badly........I've searched hell's half acre locally and can't find on anywhere. I'm not opposed to sending it out, but if I could find one locally would be nice.

I used to get it done out of Michigan.............I'm looking for triple copper chrome plating.

Thanks guys, you are a bundle of info.........
