Ok, my first try with the acrylic. I let the part completely cool, then shot what I thought was a light coat. Apparently not, because it sure isn't smooth. Can this be sanded lightly and a second coat applied, or am I facing a redo?
Not yet. I've never had good luck with it, but I guess it can't hurt to try.
Bad luck with the sanding or the buffing? For me I just use 2000 grit and a little water mister and then the System One. Be very careful around sharp edges, cause you'll sand thru to the metal in a heartbeat! Good luck!
Because I sanded the dash piece smooth last night and re-shot it. I thought I put it on lighter, and used a lower KV setting, but it doesn't look much better than it did the first time. I'm going to strip the whole thing and try it again using the clear that I'm used to. The acrylic is kicking my butt.
