  • Closest to brass

    Hello,

I'm of the mind to coat some parts in a "brass" colored powder and I was wondering what you would consider to be closest (in your estimate) to "polished" brass.

I'll be starting with a smooth cast finish, but no opportunity to polish or otherwise make the surface reflective so it would have to be all powder.

      My that's pretty!

Damn, I guess I'll have to spend the time polishing, then. Based on what I've seen with clear over chrome powder, I doubt a candy or trans over chrome would fare much better.

Also, does anyone know what this copper colored powder is?

It's oh so coppery! I sent an email to Carpy, but who knows if he'll fess up!

If its a steel part you dont want to polish it. I actually shot that color over extreme chrome and it looked pretty similar just not as reflective.

You can't tell in these pictures, but I've seen the bike in person and I'm almost certain there's a metalflake or something underneath that, and the color must be a candy of some kind.

The frame was definitely not chromed (powder or otherwise) before coating.

I like that Jollipop color... very cool. I wish PBTP had better color sample photos in their catalog; the little square doesn't do much for me. I would rather see a part (any part!) or even a speedshape with a gray card behind it so I could get a better judge of the hue.
