    Hello all,

I am new to powdercoating. I stumbled across this site when ordering some powder. I went to the link to download the powder coating manual and it is unavaiable. Does any one have a copy that i could download or know where i can get one. I have been looking at some of the stuff that has been done and have to say good job. Also i have read some of the post and have learned alot. You all are a wealth of knowledge that i am looking forward to learning from.

    thanks in advance

                    Re: new to the site

ok after reading a bunch i still have a few questions. After i cover the part with powder and put it into the preheated oven i check the part using my ir gun and when it reaches the proper temp do i leave the oven on for the set amount of time and then turn it off and allow the part to cool? How long should i leave it in the oven to cool? sorry these may be simple questions for all of you, just trying to learn

                    thanks

Okay once you check the part and it's at proper curing temp set your timer and leave it until the cure time is up.example 400 for 10 minutes. So when the part is at 400 degrees you will set the timer for 10 minutes. After it's done shut off the oven andn my opinion remove it cool. The heat from the oven will keep heating the part.

I always remove the parts from the oven when the cure time is up after the part reaches temp. I never turn off the oven and leave the part in. Often, I will even roll my rack outside (even in sub-zero temps) so the part cools faster.
