      Re: Color match HELP please............

Sleep is for suckers............. Actually I'm just gettin' going this morning.

The element dates to 1951. I don't believe that the element is the original one for the shell. The element would have had longer leads originally. They could have been shortened over the years to get better contact, and they put several different model number elements in those old mics, there is no way to tell exactly what model number element was originally put in it.

The shell dates from the early 50's also.

It has the right type of element, but no way to tell if it is the orginal element.........ain't they cool???

Chuck is a buddy of mine.........he does GREAT work and is very well respected. He is only 1 of 3 guys that repairs these type of elements......they are loaded with tiny coils of wire and magnets.............in fact he is the BEST of 3 guys in the world that does it.........he's repaired a number of these elements for me........he's tops for sure....

so he rewires the retarded tiny things inside? fun job hehehe

his mics are beautiful. of course he has to repaint them a couple yrs down the line. harp player saliva is of course highly corrosive due to the high acidic value of whiskey. You do take that into account right? going w the high rated for salt spray powders?

If he is so well known you should ask him if he is interested in getting you to pc some parts for him. he wouldn't feel threatened and you both could make some $$$. If he is rewiring inards, i bet there is some time those bodies are just sittin around, could be in the mail to you

He has someone painting and PC'ing for him currently.......I'm not sure if he's doin' it himself or hires out. These guys are very competative.......friendly but competative.
