I have some steel wheels from a 2006 Chevy Dualie that the owner wants coated to match his paint.
His truck is Silver Birch Metallic, paint code 59U
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best match it?
A small chip would do, most local automotive shops have liquid matches, they could spray a patch for you, send to me and then we match, no problem and no inflated price! We just matched wheels for one of the largest wheel reman's in the USA It felt good to help them out because they were having so many problems getting the correct color match
First, welcome to the forum nvpowdercoater and thanks for asking. I've been wanting to ask the same question. thanks for the Info Shelly. I went to a Chevy dealer and picked up a color chart for the newer trucks and the samples is real paint, or it looks like it is. Would that work Shelly? Anything I can do to make it easier for me to match the truck tool boxes. quote="THEKING"]A small chip would do, most local automotive shops have liquid matches, they could spray a patch for you, send to me and then we match, no problem and no inflated price! Thats the way to do it .... when we do custom matching for a wheel we have to simulate the process, so first we lay down the KL primer allow to cool, then comes the metallic, allow to cool then the acrylic topcoat ! Send in what you have all we will do our very best to match for you....
Takes awhile but it is worth it if it gets the job done..
