  • Any compressor oil guru's out there?

    probably their "house brand"
If you can find the spec sheet, you can find it from somewhere else for sure.
We use Gardner Denver SP8000, which is good for 8000 hours.
Of course to not void our warranty (5 years) we have to, after that I'll run Amsoil compressor oil.
I know I called Amsoil about our old compressor and they said the same thing, complete flush if you change brands.

Basically you HAVE to have it... so they are going to stick it to you.

If you don't have a warranty to consider, I would just call oil manufactures tell them about your machine, even what the manufacture recommended part number, see if they have a cross reference it, there is a way to cross reference, I cant remember.
there is an i.d. number I'm pretty sure on the container you can give them, and they can cross ref it for you.

not much help... but it's a start
    Josh

If I'm not mistaken the roto inject is a synthetic oil, hence the flushing procedure to switch to mineral oil.I went the other way and went to synthetic. The superior lubricating properties of synthetic far outweighs the cost of synthetic.Lowes sells the synthetic compressor oil,about$8 a pint.

Lets see what we got here? 1 pint $8 x2=$16 qt x4 =$64 per gal. What you think HD? $50 not bad per gal? And HD you have one of them there SCREW compressors so you just come under screwed Now quit bitching and pay the man Now when you have a normal compressor you pun in Slick 50 and buy a good grade oil and go for it but you NO have one of them.

Have you called the people you bought it from or the manufacturer? I think william might be right. You would think an $8000 compressor would a least recommend some kind of oil. We have a big Bauer compressor we have to fill our air bottles its a synthetic.
Call and ask if you can use Ambra multi G134. If you can use it call me and let me know how much you need

I have a 100 cfm Ingersoll Rand rotary compressor that the manual says to use 14 Qts. of Dextron II transmission fluid in it. I serviced the in line filter and the oil/air separator element not to long ago. I also used Royal Purple in my Quincy compressor last fall but it doesn't hold much oil in it's reservoir. Royal Purple originally founded their business on compressor oils. Good luck...
