Old chome pipes

Hey I have not tried coating old pipes yet and would like to know if there is anything out of the ordinary that I need to do?

I have two sets one with Hightemp Gloss black and the other will be flat black.

I just did a set this week that were used and had to get all the road grime and tar off them.

I wetsanded the pipes with 400 grit and used goo gone as my lubricant. Worked fast and good.
