  • Chicago electric gun

Anybody know about them? I got one thrown in with the oven/spray booth deal and dont know anything about it. Seems simple enough to use, I just have not played with it. Is it even worth my time to clean and set up to shoot with it?

I know Chicago manufacturers the HF unit, is that what you're talking about or do they have a different electric gun?

I think it's pretty much the same as the Caswell gun.

The one shown in the picture is what is commonly referred to as the Harbor Freight gun. Same thing as the Caswell, but without the high voltage adjustable controller. These two guns share a lot of components (foot pedal, grounding clip, gun, etc...) The only thing that is different is the controller's ability to adjust voltage and the thread pitch on the cup.

What gun are you currently using? It's worth keeping around for spare parts for a Caswell gun or for a back-up gun. It will do a decent job at shooting test and sample panels.

The HF gun works much better with the mods done to it. Check previous posts. I'd keep it just in case.

is it adjustable? Do the hopper mod and lose the little tip for sure. it's a 100x improvement. Without the hopper mod it spits a lot and you have to shake the shit out of it. With it it is a very nice little gun.
