  • WIPEING OFF UNCURED POWDER

I was shooting some parts tonite and i had 2 pieces cooling off across the room (of course they are wet black and need to be delivered tomorrow) when i see a lite dusting of the silver powder i shot after them. i guess the powder must have marched right over to them and laid down!! how can i wipe off the uncured powder dust from the black parts? alcohol and a microfiber towel? i usually put them in my big oven and close the door to cool down while i'm shooting another part but of course i forgot.

i just touched one of the parts lightly with my finger hopeing it would wipe off but it did not move. i would say they where still warm when this happened, not straight out off the oven but they must have been there about 5 to 10 minutes before i started shooting the silver. i guess i clean the gun too fast!!

You could try a small spot with MEK on a rag and "lightly" rub to see if they come off. MEK also cures powder to a point, so use it sparingly! Let us know what did/didn't work...

I would try a fine cut cleaner/polish, I have had luck removing wet paint over spray off of parts before.
I'm not sure it will work but it might if the powder isn't stuck to hard.
