    Re: overcure symptoms

thanks harley dad. the reson i ask is i shot some sd wet black on a set of tripple trees and in the morning i peled off the tape and hanging wire. i wiped down the trees to get my greasy a** finger prints off and i noticed very light scratches on them . what would cause that and do you think i have to reshoot them? (high gloss powders show EVERYTHING!).

it can take 24 hours after the part comes out of the oven for the part to be fully cured.

Put a coat of wax on them.
I was doing the wax thing until this week. I waited 24+ hours and applied a coat of wax. It made the wet black finish a little milky. I won't be doing that for black anymore. It wouldn't come off no matter what I did, and it wasn't there before wax. Customer was happy, and didn't see it, but I could... So be careful.

Have you tried using a scratch and haze remover polish to remove the milkiness?

I've posted about this before and have made it a rule to let all parts sit in my office overnight before handing it back to a customer. Especially wheels. No matter how many times you tell a customer to wait a couple of days before mounting tires on the wheels, they always go straight to the mexican llantera joint and slap tires on them. Then end up scratching or chipping the powder on a wheel that was still warm when they picked it up!
