Pretty sure I win..... but you never know

the pics make it look 100 times better, looks more like the color of a pumpkin.

Off topic/ Sadly a few years ago I had a client tell me he wanted "burnt orange" on his hot rod frame, picked this color, and when I said "you won't like it" he said "I know what I want, JUST DO IT"
"Yes sir, sign here on your work order stating this is the color"
When it's done he looked at it, apologized and said "you were right.... looks like a pumpkin"

Winner get sympathy from their peers for defiling their oven with such horrid colors

So after having the weekend to look at it, and realizing how horrid this color is and his buddy's making fun of him my Client sends his bike back via the mechanic reassembling it together stating that they have "looked" at it, and it looks like I put the powder on to thin in some spots, and to thick in others.

Very polite the mechanic was, but the basic jist was "if it's light the client wants it redone".
at which I'm thinking to myself "I'm sure another color also"

Thank god we have a mil thickness gauge, slapped that bad boy on there and it reads 4.7-7.9 mils

Mechanic say "well, you put more than enough on there, and that's all I need, I'll be sending more work over"

Waiting for the bike owner to call for a color change phone call, hopefully it's not like the message I had on voice mail this morning from him "I got a orange bike frame done this week, and it looks like crap, call me to fix this"

Need to come up with a term for bad color choosing, like "buyers remorse" lol

After the coater and the customer don't agree on what was done and how it was excecuted, the next phone call goes to the manufactor, ala: What kind of s*&# did you put in the box?

Delta E and CIELab are my friends.

For this kind of orange (my guess somewhere between RAL 1037 and 2000), AUTOMOTIVE spec's call for:
dE to standard <3.6
dE to pre. batch <2.5
In this orange range, your eye will pick up any difference down to 1.5 dE's.

Been there, done that.
Funny isn't it? The moment you take the order you know this will be trouble.

Yes, this is the cursed color of Streetwerkz.... we have only had 1 good experience with it.
I tell everyone "don't do it it's ugly" then they tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, do it anyway... then I am eager to teach them

I am more than just a little off some days
