  • Transferring powder to different containers

What do most of you guys use to transfer powder from boxes/bags into smaller containers for use? Do you just move it a scoop at a time and/or dump it from the bag like I do, or is there a better way? My way gets pretty messy sometimes. I generally transfer my powders into 2-lb containers for ease of storage and handling at the booth. It's a real pain to tie and untie those bags and try to fill a cup gun with one hand while you fight the bag and hold the gun with the other.

(I know...get the Wagner box-feed, and my troubles are over! )

How do you guys at PBTP do it?

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die, and too old to take an ass-whoopin'!

I bought a bunch of plastic spoons. Thats what I used for my cup gun. I wanted to keep my powder in those bags for a reason.

A big spoon for the hopper or cup and straight from the bag when using the vibe box.

Some help here KING? :P Every time I start with the innocent spooning, somebody gets forked, and I end up paying child support for the next 18 years!

Re: I scoop, strain, and funnel into bottle to use in gun

Well there could be an issue....If you are working with metallics, IT could separate the metallic from the powder depending on how fine the strainer is. Maybe?

I USE A LONG HANDLED ICE CREAM SCOOP. ALSO USE IT TO GO FROM CONTAINER TO SIFTER, SIFTER OVER METAL MEASURING CUP INTO GUN.
