  • Flat Anodized Red

This is a trial run with Flat Anodized Red with a new gun and spray booth.
A steel sprocket, degreased, blasted with 80 alum oxide sprayed and cured at 400 for 10 min measured with an IR gun.
The finish seems quite dark. I will check it again in bright sun shine.
Is this what 'bout what I should expect or is there some snag?

    Thanks for the review:

Its a transparent color, best over real chrome or a bright substrate. blasted steel isnt that bright.

I haven't shot the stuff myself, but that looks a lot darker than my sample panel. Maybe it would be lighter over a silver basecoat?

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die, and too old to take an ass-whoopin'!

I have two aluminum oxide panels and they are a different shade. I'm guessing film thickness has a lot to do with it. It's easy to see which panel has a higher mil thickness.

I've shot it and the lighter ( chrome being best ) the base coat is the brighter and better the red looks. On plain blasted alum it'll have a dark cranberry look to it. It is a transparent in that it WILL let diff shades in the substrate show through. So make sure the base is the same color/tint all over.
