  • Temperature question

how are you guys measuring the temparture on these atv/mc/car frames?? I noticed that the entire frame wont reach the cure temp.. like nooks and crannies and deep recessed areas.. I took temp readings all over and they varied unlike my usual wheels and smaller parts pretty much heat evenly..im doing a chrme base and trans blue frame just wanted to see were i should be taken the temp at to get the best reading Herb

I try to do what Jeff said. Just gotta find a good balance... I usually get my reading off the largest common area.

      Re: Temperature question

I do a lot of bike frames with varying metal thicknesses and they don't heat evenly. I just measure the temp at the point with the most mass/density; once that's up to the specified PMT, the clock starts. Most powders are overbake stable, so the thinner areas are OK for the extra minutes of bake time.
