Iím thinking of putting a add in the classified section under automotive section which is next to the antique/classis cars. Been trying to come up with a name for months and I want to be short and sweet. I know this might seem dumb but hear are my options.

    Extreme Bake Over Powder Coating
    xxx-xxx-xxxx

    Bamaís powder coating
    The extreme bake over
    xxx-xxx-xxxx

    Powder Coating
    xxx-xxx-xxxx

    Bamaís Powder Coating
    xxx-xxx-xxxx

I got the idea of placing a add from streetwerkz. I think itís a good idea to see what I might be up against for starters. Any opinions are welcome so fire away.

    What's wrong with AL Powder?

I like the "Bama Powder Coating" idea, although it kinda sounds like "Obama Powder Coating" if you say it fast enough

When I looked at your screen name I thought that's what it stood for "Alabama Powder Coating, Inc" It sounds official! Everyone will probably think you are one of the big guys... be ready to get a lot of calls about car frames and driveway gates if you go with that name lol

Thats the kind of input I need. I was wanting to try to refer my powder coating to car parts. Maybe I should put something in the add of car parts since its in the auto parts section. If all he has is a frame to powder coat I can tell him where he needs to go, if I get a bunch of calls for it I just get a bigger shop then the other stuff would come. The gates Im out I was advised to stay away from gates or fence.

              Re: Advertisement opinion

As far as picking a name related to cars or bikes, that's something I have some experience (Snail Motorsports).

It works for me, because that's a large part of what I do. However, every once in a while I get a call or email asking for more than just powder coating. People associate 'Motorsports' with a car shop, an "all service" type of place doing wheels, turbo kits, and restoration. I can't do any of that stuff... I don't regret the name, although including "Powder Coating" somewhere in there would have been nice.

It's one of those things where you want to really think about it, but don't much too much thought into it man. Find something that has meaning to you and that makes sense to others. Be clever but not too clever, but obvious but not too obvious, know what I mean? I think you're on the right track, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

                    Re: Advertisement opinion

Where are you going to place the ad?
I will say this, the phone book has been a huge waist of money for us.
99% of our clients come from word of mouth, swap meets, shows, Internet, craigslist.
One day we'll get on myspace, flicker, face book, and other social networking sites which I hear is the next big thing for advertising.

                    I personally like

                    AL Powder Coating
                    AL Custom Powder Coating

Neither limit you to "motor sports only" which we are dealing with now, while I like Streetwerkz, it may/probably is limiting
We use to only want to do motor sports, but have learned we like money, and will coat anything that fits in our oven.
We do a fair amount of Ornamental iron, pays good, easy to do.

We also work with several powder coaters that have ovens smaller than ours, who have us quote the job, then add a handling fee for us to do the work.

For instance if someone wants an entire car chassis, and suspension done, but coater A has a 4x4x8 oven, while coater A can do all the parts but the frame, he can send the frame to coater B mark it up for handling, and still make money on the other parts.
Win/Win/Win for coater A, B, and client... if you can find a reputable coater to work with.
I know it sounds like a CRAZY concept, by working together we can all prosper.

Put a business name in there too even if you just pull it out of thin air. It makes you look official.
