  • The Master Blaster? Move to the Beach!

I received the info on a blast unit today from a coater 40 miles away that is making a killing and been in business 2 years with only two adds and uses no forums just does it right I guess and dag lucky also. A lot of his powder comes from PBTP but I can not say who he is. He wants it that way. He knows as people find out about me he will loose business but he said he would never even know it. He has ovens run by gas that would do the whole truck if it would take it and that is just one of 4 I think and he designed and made.

He said this joker add on will blast the "H" out of any thing and in short order and I will agree with what I know about water and sand and pressure. Just like a storm I guess.

So its up to up what you think and the cost is great if you have a pressure washer and a bucket? I know you guys will have to go buy a dag bucket but gee? live a little? Make it a big bucket if you are a big guy????????????

Simple made stuff can be very usefull and this is as about as simple as you can get?

OK who is the WISE "A" that said use a bucket for sand blasting? You got to be kidding

Cool idea, thanks for the link duke. I might pick that up for stuff too big to go in the cabinet.

Only problem is - the water makes stuff rust so anything steel would have to be iron phosphated immediately.

Re: The Master Blaster? Move to the Beach!

I agree with water and steel and flash rust. Got to not mess around with it and get it dried quick and get it protected quick.

If you are using your normal sand for blasting I would think the etching would be the same but using it with the water and the pressure it should be very fast and my guess you don't want to linger to long in one place. He said it was real fast. If I am not mistaken he does not mess around with two much of the strippers.

On the wet sand clumping I would say keep a lid on it. In the reviews of it I didn't read them all but saw no one complaining?

Years ago I remember hearing about water blasting paint off cars but never knew much about it and it was before Internet. I have a big oil fired hot water blaster that we need to replace the pump on because the man that gave it to us said someone left it out side and the water froze and it has a couple of cracks. But it will blast for sure. You just have water where you maybe didn't want it. I don't know enough about water blasters and turning them down any like for less pressure? I just know you can get different nozzles for them. But this unit replaces the existing nozzle and only has one size that you can replace on the end of it just like and blast nozzle for sand.

The man told me that you can see the sparkle in the water spray. But I would think that as long as you or some one is in the spray of it it would be a lot safer and not have dust flying every where. The wet would take it down.

I am not going to try one I am going to buy one. But when will I use it will be another question. My smaller water one works but not correct and my big one is just to big unless I want to blast a tank or train maybe Got to get a new smaller unit for what I would want as long as the unit will attach to it? Got to do some checking on that.

You guys that live around a Northern store so you can pick one up could you see what units they have that it will work with for me? I think the cheep ones are fixed so its going to have to be one that you can buy the nozzles for so it will snap into them?

Re: The Master Blaster? Move to the Beach! Update Info

The guy just sent me this bit of info that might be interesting to all of you also.

"It does use a lot of sand but is also very fast to strip things. I have a plastic tank cement mixer full of sand as well for small parts. What I do is wire what ever in place and turn it on and let it run for an hour or two. The sand slides by the parts and will sand blast it effortlessly. If I have a lot of small parts I will just place them in the sand and let them tumble for a few hours, it works pretty good for small parts."

"Ok" Now we need unit for picking up the sand ( know where to get that) and then we need pressure washer to attach it to ( got to buy the right one? No problem!) and while we are at it we pick up a cement mixer( OK we go looking again for one!!) and looks like we are good to go Now while we are setting back enjoying a beer or whatever we need some one to do it all and when all is done we prep and shoot and Then they can pull it out to cool While we have a beer I like the Rum drinks my self?

Now this is what I call info and the only internet use is the email and the link to a product but all else is word of mouth from one to another the way it used to be!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I need to call CCP and sing 99 bottles of RUM on the wall this time He would like that I bet But he is a BEER person and might not get it

Re: The Master Blaster? Move to the Beach!

ok duke, i put the order in , it should be here this week. i have a bike frame and a bicycle frame and some metal furniture to do. if this works it will save some cash that would normally go to the blaster man.also the dust should be a minimum, dogs will appreciate that. the one big bonus is i can take it out to the back and don't need air line.

I am assuming that you have the right type of pressure washer to attach it to then? I guess that any of the ones you can buy the small different type sprayers for will work? I have whats left of what you call a cheep one and my son has the one that makes its on hot water we need a new pump for and I guess my friend next door unit would work also. Its one of the gas powder ones.

From what I under stand from the guy that said it was great but did love to consume sand he uses it a bunch except when he is doing car/truck frames and someone else does them.

So let me know how it works out for you. I just finished building a very large blast cabinet that will be outside and it will handle bike frames and bumpers and any thing else I need. Its a redesigned copy of the one Powder coating pros made and was going to try it today until I found out my compressor tank had a bottom leak This has not been a fun day.
