  • Price check on hitch parts...

Got these in the oven off-gassing and need a price before emailing customer once they are done. They will be 40% gloss single color.

Process was chemical strip on two of them, then blast, off-gas, and soon coat. Any ideas? Guy dropped them off and told be to "just give him a fair price" when I'm done. He has several boats and other vehicles so it could mean repeat business. Appreciate any feedback.

How much time you got in em? If he could be a repeat customer I would go 50-75

I agree with the $50 maybe $60. Ought to bring him back and get you paid.

Yup. About I agree with about $20 apiece. By the way, they are steel which means no outgassing necessary unless the parts have had grease or something soaked on for a long time. I see lots of you guys mentioning you do that on everything, but you're wasting time and money on utility charges for your oven. I have NEVER had an issue coating steel that has been stripped and blasted clean.

I've got about a half an hour worth of labor into them. Drop them in the cybersolve, pull them out a half hour later and blast them. I think $50-$60 is fair. Thanks!

Yup, that piece of the left is dense! The thing took twice as long as the oven to reach 400!

Ended up getting 60 bucks for them and the customer thought that a "super fair!" price. Think I could have gotten 75-80 for them, but at least now I think I'll be getting some repeat business... so it's worth it. Especially if he brings back similar parts since I'm now more familiar with them. Thanks again for the advice.

Although I do out-gas just about everything, this was more just to make check how long it would take the pieces to reach 400. This thing was really heavy and I just had no idea. I figured somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour... ended up taking almost a half hour to reach 405. As soon as it reached 415 I shut her down...
