OK so I need to do some underbody coatings. Brackets and hangers to start, then eventually subframes and such. I am looking for the toughest possible powder(s) Any suggestions?
So far I am thinking Red Oxide primer with Black Carbide. Good combo? bad? other?
The Black Carbide Texture has a nice impact restistance and is a high performance powder, so if you are looking for a tough texture - she will do the trick

Welcome
Yes, I read that it has nice impact restiance, that was what drew me to it. I was just wondering if I could up the duribility, with a primer. I would rather do just the one coat but if I can I can make it better i'll go two.
Oh and not that it should matter but im using the eastwood hobbby gun.
So will the primer give any added durabilty? I would prefer a one step approch, but I want to make thes as tough as possible.
and no I don't need a textured coat, just read that carbide had good impact resistance.
Durability covers many factors, if you are looking for impact resistance then the SD Wet Black has a 4H Pencil Hardness and an impact resitance direct and indirect 140-160 but only if you go with the recommended mil thickness ..
I was looking at the SD black trying to figure out what would work. I feel guilty about using it for under body parts, it looks so nice. How forgiving is it to work with? So far my only experience is with a handfull of Eastoods colors.
OK so i'm going to due the parts with black carbide and primer.
Whats the best way to do this combo?
