This stuff is kickin' my butt..........this is the second time it's screwed me............*&%#@$%&* (sorry for the profanity.........)

I keep getting whole areas of small what seems to me as uncured powder.............I've outgased, primed, cleaned and shot it again and it did it to me again...........it that common with POLYESTER POWDERS? I've had the same thing happen with a blue texture polyester too...........I'm following the cure schedule to a tee...........this stuff is a great color but is really beginning to *%#$*&^* me off..........

    HELP!!!!!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Why would you think it's uncured? Show a pic of what you're talking about and maybe we can help you out.

What primer are you using? Looks like it reacted with something underneath it to me.

That or some odd surface contamination.

Just a clean dry cloth............I'm using KL primer............it's a mistery to me........but it's really beginning to &%$@* me off....

I wonder if there could be a reaction between the pot metal and the polyester powders............

I followed all the normal procedures I always do..........

Have you tried shooting a test panel?

                    Re: *#%@#&%#* Ultra Yellow

I'm out of test panels..........gonna have to order some more. I'll search around here tomorrow for something simple to shoot.......

No problem at all with the primer at all..............everything normal.

I would suspect bad powder but I've had the very same issue with the blue texture polyester too..........

                      Re: *#%@#&%#* Ultra Yellow

Did you ever say, did you clean the part after primer but before the yellow?

375f/15mins. overbake stable Weird with the KL sealing your mic the cast should be sealed from the powder. Have you tried a second cure cycle on the KL before coating with the poly? And you did 400f/18mins. on your curing cycle for the KL right? Maybe reaching but I'm just trying to help.

The first cover I did came out great, the second had some oil contamination an a small spot on the verticle side had similar look. I figured I had to much powder on it. The first cover I primed with red oxide and gave it a light cover of yellow and it looked good. Pic posted in my pics thread.

Any chance your blue texture wasnt fully cured? Then you applied the ultra yellow and cured? When the ultra cleared maybe the blue texture, textured back up? Im only guessing here, but that is what a texture PC looks like

The blue texture was on a different mic months ago. I haven't used it since. This ultra yellow (other than KL primer) is the only powder on this mic.

I've just decided to strip it and go with another color...........it's a shame..........I've tried to use ultra yellow a couple different times hoping I can get better results, but I keep getting this............love the color...........
