  • Liquid to Powder

Has anyone out there tried the liquid to powder? I got my latest Powder Coating magazine today, there's an article about a company named Dynamic Coatings that is doing airbrush art with powder. Is this the same stuff? I am interested in any info on this.

its great stuff !! I use it for all my recessed lettering. It makes life so much easier. I had a little bit of trouble figuring out the mix ratio at first but once you figure it out its cake. I highly recommend using it!!

My first and only attempt was on a customers part. I was left with a less than desierable finish. LOL

Never try something new on a customer part. I mixed up a drop, thats it. and went with it. It looked good in one spot but the other looked washed out.

You have to mix it to where its nearly runny, but not. if you want to check it before curing let it sit and dry out, you will see the powder. It will turn back into powder. I had one that came out clumpy, washed it off, remixed with a little more L2P and presto worked like a charm. give it another shot its a great product once you get the hang of it.

Printers do "it" without wrinkling the sheets.

                    Here's a 14 page thread about L2P to read:
                    viewtopic.php?f=5&t=552&hilit=l2p
I read it also but they don't reveal his mix.

I finally played with this stuff this weekend, and was having problems with bubbles in the mixture from mixing it. How do you mix it? Knead it like bondo?

I think I found a good slurry mix, but when it evaporated and dried there was a bunch of small pinhole like air pockets.

Also the mil thickness of painted stripes was a cause for a concern. Very high and lumpy.

                      More play time is needed.

Thats about what it was, maybe a tad thicker. Too bad I don't have a vac camber to suck the air out of the mixture.
