  • King Gun Questions

Well guys/gals I am on the fence here. I need a new gun for large parts and high volume runs and I have narrowed it down to two guns. I need to know how well the king gun lays down multiple cold coats of powder. The other gun will lay down as many as nine coats cold but it does not come with a fluidized bed hopper . I would just like to know how many COLD coats can/have been achieved with the King Gun. I don't want a Ford versus Chevy battle here I just want the facts so I can make my own decision. I appreciate you time and your help, Thanks in advance!

      Re: King Gun Questions

Well I look at it like this, I can use both the CC hoppers or the PBTP Fluidized bed hoppers on the King gun if I wanted to. The Hyper Smooth is limited to just the CC hopper. Also it does not have the rinse air, secondary air, or fluidizing air like the king gun does. So the King Gun has more options plus a fluidizing hopper and its the same price.... It is a tough decision as I love the Columbia Pony gun I have and the service I have received from Columbia but I believe I will have to lean towards the King gun here. Keep information coming guys, Thanks.

Seen it in action today at the rodeo !! Gets a big thumbs up in my book. There are a ton of adjustments you have to make, but I think once you get it dialed in youre set.

Hey John, it was nice to meet you yesterday. I hope all your questions got answered. In my opinion I would say it's not "it's a ton" of adjustments. There really is only a few things to conrtol and the more familiar you are the gun the easier it gets. Not every powder sprays the same.
haha ok well when you are using what I am currently using and then see a gun like that, or the wagner for that matter those seemed like a fair amount of adjustments. But like I said once they had it set it was ready to go !! Yes that answered all my questions about the KC second coats were cake for it The fluidizer was very neat in itself.

I wanted to say thanks to PBTP for the get together and complying with my request to get the gun to do a second coat. It was good to see how easily it can and does one !!!

Whats the difference between the beebob hopper and the one PBTP sells with the King gun?

The BeeBob hopper is all white and is bigger. The clear tubed one in the pic is from China. I think you're still getting both hoppers for now.

Are there any performance differences between the two hoppers or is the only difference the size and looks?

I haven't seen or used the clear one, but from what I've heard the clear one doesn't seem to work very well.
