sometimes a color match is difficult for the same reason...you may have to do two coats of one color to achieve the desired results

Big Mess .. it is very difficult to keep these tanks balanced, post rinse can create major problems and bacteria is no-ones friend in that world..outside furniture, gates, air conditioning units, ect. are all e-coated!

With E-Coat the tank must be strickly maintained and this is not always realistic...okay, it is never realistic

That sounds like a real bad day. Is this coating process used on all bikes or just Harley's ?

That put a new light on the subject to say the least. The motor is not engineered to be a structural member at all, and the neck gusset it poorly positioned. Compared to my rolling thunder 4x4 curved down tube, curved back bone, and a tube design harmonic gusset that allows the motor to be a structured member. Checkout Spenser web page at rolling thunder cycle frames. They are a small company from Canada that builds frames for S&S, Jesse James, and a list of others. But the price is this also HD frame $1500, Rolling Thunder $4000. I will try to post a picture of a inner rusted tube HD frame, and a picture of my Chop frame. I have recommend on here before to people to apply a light colored primer to your customers frames so when they get a crack it will show up plan as day.
Cool thanks I'd like to see the photos.

Does any one know when the e-coat process started on their frames?

                            1. Warm weather so the ladies would feel the need to show everyone there twins.
                            2. Less deer out on the run. At night I stay in town for that reason.
Okay whats the Tomahawk? And I'm all about seeing the twins OH YEAH!!! My favorite part at big car shows THE TWINS!!! Sorry I get carried away.
